As
technology became
more sophisticated, so did
ebooks and the issues surrounding them.
According to an article for The Observer by Anna Baddeley, «Last month the charity published the results of a survey into how
technology is shaping our reading habits: nearly half (48 %) of UK adults who use
technology to read said it had made them read
more; 41 % said that being able to look up words they didn't know has made reading easier while half said that being able to adjust the appearance of the text has helped; 62 % said that being able to access free
ebooks has meant they have read books they would not otherwise have read.»
As
more schools receive funding for
technology, especially through literacy initiatives that help provide
ebooks and devices, and as new platforms for digital comics and digital graphic novels open up, this medium stands to make a tremendous impact.

As 2011 came to close and predictions were made for the future of the publishing industry, several sources within the industry supported the idea that transmedia reading was going to see huge gains in popularity this year as readers come to expect
more from the
technology behind e-reading and as authors and publishers clamor to stand out in the vast crowd of
ebooks.
But with
technology advancing, and the ecosystem become ever
more valuable, perhaps the time has come to start learning to work with the new
ebooks.
And as
ebook and print - on - demand
technology improves and becomes
more widely available worldwide, these will only continue to grow.
Sony currently has well over 10,000 best - seller titles in their CONNECT
eBook store, although they presently have very few
technology books available (Internet, Programming, Graphics Design, etc.), the E-Ink ®
technology is constantly improving and once we have large color screens, we may start to see
more of these type of book being made available.
Our research was primarily to compare our existing training course, which only uses PowerPoint slides, with a new teaching platform,
eBooks, to compare student learning and engagement, which
more fully uses the functionality of computer systems and newer cloud
technologies.
NFC could give book retailers who also are getting into the
ebooks game to give their own branded device new functionality that would make the
technology feel even
more current.

Aside from the massive leap in available
technology that makes these numbers possible,
more ebooks are coming to market thanks to the publishing industry's veritable embracing of the format.

technologies such as HTML, CSS, SVG, XML, XSLT, XSL - FO, PNG, RDF, and many
more, are already extensively in
eBooks and
eBook production.

more than willing to use the «experimental» reading
technology for their out - of - print and backlist titles.
As
more tablet choices become available for consumers and as dedicated e-readers drop in price to make room on the shelves for the tablets,
more ebooks than ever are likely to find their way onto reading consumers» newly acquired
