more books (
more than 1,500 compared with 200), and has a longer battery life (Amazon says you can read for four to five days with wireless turned on and for longer than two weeks with it turned off) than the original.
As handheld
electronic book reader devices become
more popular and widely accepted, early adopters
of these devices may upgrade to newer,
more capable
versions of these readers.

This unusual maneuver, which Amazon says occurred because Orwell's publisher changed its mind about offering the
electronic version of these titles, is all the
more unsettling simply because readers already purchased the
books and had their ownership
of the item revoked.
Perhaps it's an idea that
more than a few schools could exploit, saving a few bucks on the reams
of paper used to produce the
more traditional paper each semester, while enticing kids who are loathe to pick up a
book or a magazine to take a gander at an
electronic version that fits right in with their daily routine.
