With the newer games becoming rather generic and
more action - based as opposed to survival - horror and puzzle - based — the Revelations games do a good job of blending the two together, but let's face it, what Resident
Evil fans really want is another game that truly goes back to its roots — it's no surprise that Resident
Evil fans are yearning for a true Resident
Evil experience once
more, and with the Resident
Evil GameCube Remake HD Remastered
version (what a mouthful!)
As a huge fan of the resident
evil series I bought the HD remastered
version more or less on it's release day back in January 2015 — could I not get a discount in the store due to having already purchased an item that is now free?

versions of Anubis (pictured above), Jehuty and Detonator Orgun (though we're
more excited by the inclusion of the Tsugumori from Tsutomu Nihei's brilliant though overlooked Knights of Sidonia manga), to some very nice figma toys of both Tekkaman Blade and Tekkaman
Evil.
The Nintendo Switch will get two
more games from Capcom later this year: remastered
versions of Resident
Evil Revelations 1 and 2.
But you want an HD
version of the original Resident
Evil and
more games like Revelations!
If the developers were to focus
more on the atmosphere and tighten up the gameplay then they would have a solid product on their hands, but as it stands, the game plays like someone who learned RPG Maker over the weekend in an attempt to make their own
version of Resident
Evil.
And we've got
more to look forward to, like the amazing Gamecube
version of Resident
Evil, remastered in HD.
However, it should be noted that Resident
Evil Revelations 2 has the better and ultimately
more fleshed out
version of this multiplayer portion.
We're in 1997 and the story of the
evil versions of characters is now established and now slotted much
more definitively in to the existing Vega vs. Ryu storyline.
This
version of Resident
Evil comes across as
more of a «because we can» indie art project
more than an actual Capcom - sponsored production.
Get used to ignoring what its viewpoint suggests and playing it
more like a Resident
Evil game and ZombiU will absorb you into its creepy, geographically inaccurate
version of London.
I have seen multiple arguments of which
version of the character is the best, based on design, personality or boss fight, and while I can understand that some people tend to lean towards the
more menacing,
evil, badass representation, I personally adore how for once Ganon was given a sympathetic side in Wind Waker.
Of course Monckton's cartoon caricature portrayal of the Left as a cohesive power for
evil is barely
more loony than the cartoon caricature
version of the Right that Monckton typifies.
