Many may not agree with me, but religion has played a crucial role in keeping order in the society historically that is a lot
more in magnitude than
historical violence in the
name of religion.
But this
more relaxed, multiperspectival faith is not Christian faith at all; it is just another
name for

In the Hebrew canon of prophecy (the Latter Prophets) there are four «books» comprising fifteen
names — Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and the twelve «minor» prophets (the last twelve writings of our Old Testament, Hosea to Malachi) These fifteen writings vary in length, were written over a span of centuries from the eighth probably to the third B.C., are addressed to radically different
historical situations, and certainly in their present form represent far
more than fifteen writers.
In order to make a fresh beginning, Wach proposed to refer to his enterprise as the History of Religions (Religionswissenschaft), which was the official English designation of the international association.7 Wach was afraid that the
name might suggest a purely
historical discipline, but he was
more afraid that the history of religion, in the singular, the usage he had preferred in Germany, might suggest a philosophical discipline.
And one
more time, some of the references used by NT scholars for reviewing the life of the
historical Jesus and the
names of some of their books containing their conclusions:
Regardless of whether or not he was married, the
historical Jesus seemed to have viewed women with
more respect than the church that was built in his
name.
But Oral Roberts University and Bob Jones University — to
name only two of the
more notoriously successful — are essentially the lengthened shadows of individuals, not the institutional forms a
historical movement takes.
Of all the possible
names here we will mention only that of our own teacher, the moderately conservative Joachim Jeremias, who deserves to be heard on this point, if only because he has done
more than any other single scholar to add to our knowledge of the
historical Jesus.
This is also the perfect answer for those who dislike family or
historical names and are looking for something a bit
more modern and trend setting to give to their baby.

more — Best Picture, Best Director, Adapted Screenplay, Art Direction, Cinematography, Score, you
name it, this has a strong shot.

more exciting, twist on what would otherwise result in stuffier true - life drama (i.e. Steven Spielberg's Lincoln biopic).
With fairly cursory critical discussions, perpetual plot synopses, and adjective - driven lauding («an acidulous commentary on class» or «a masterclass in film acting,» to
name a couple) in place of detail - driven social criticism, Forshaw has placed himself between a Brighton Rock (1947) and a Kill List (2011), casting his
historical net too wide for anything
more than introductory textual assessment.
