A classic, simple summer tart with a nut crust and white cream, only the apricots are combined with lavender, and encased in a jelly - like orange and
honey glaze to make things a tad
more exciting.
To make it a little
more weeknight dinner friendly, I went ahead and took out a few steps I recall anytime mom cooked up something that was breaded —
honey glazed or not.
Honey Glazed roasted Beetroot mixed with almond flour, flavored with little
more honey, topped with pumpkin seeds and slivered almonds and baked into delicious and aromatic Healthy Bread.
8 large eggs 1 1/2 cups (300 g) white granulated sugar plus 1 tablespoon
more for sprinkling 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar 1/2 cup whole milk 1/4 cup
honey plus 1 tablespoon
more for
glaze 1 1/2 cups (210 g) all purpose flour zest of 1 medium lemon finely grated 2 teaspoons of culinary quality matcha powder (optional for marbling)
You might be able to get away with
honey in the frosting, but it would become
more of a
glaze.
Unfortunately I added a
honey glaze from another chef, which turn out
more like a toffee candy coating topping.
It has a dry finish, but when combined with the
honey for the
glaze, the flavor rounds out and retains
more of the initial floral essence.
I love adding a
honey lime
glaze to my fruit salad to not only add a little
more sweetness, but to help it stay fresh longer.
Scone ingredients • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk • 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons gluten free rolled oats • 1 1/2 cups 1 to 1 Gluten - Free Flour Blend • 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon coconut sugar, plus
more for sprinkling on top • 2 teaspoons baking powder • pinch of sea salt • zest of 2 organic lemons, divided • 1/4 cup neutral coconut oil — scoopable, at room temperature • 1/2 cup pistachios — chopped, plus
more for garnish • 1 1/2 cup fresh or frozen (not thawed) blueberries • 1/4 cup aquafaba (water from a can of chickpeas or other beans) • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for the
glaze • 1/4 cup cashew butter • 1 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup or
honey • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric — for colour • juice of 1 lemon
Gently paint the scented
honey and melted butter
glaze mixture over them, then bake for 5 minutes
more.
