We settled on meatloaf, thinking that you could make it look sort of like a camel's hump... you know... if he was wearing a girdle of camel's hair, he had to have done something with the rest of the camel... I modified the linked
recipe by adding Worcestershire sauce, garlic and onion, and I thought it turned out a bit dry, but it wasn't bad, especially with a topping of vidalia onions browned in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a little
more honey.
I couldn't find sunflower seeds, so just went with the
recipe as posted (substituted some of
more expensive ingredients —
honey for maple syrup, different type of date), but will use suggestion of upping oats next time to see how it goes.
I'll try this
recipe again, but I'll probably add
more honey.

I observed you removed the
honey and coconut oil, tried the new
recipe and love it even
more!
But I think the
honey hardens
more than maple syrup so it was basically a wasted
recipe.
I added about a quarter cup
more honey to this
recipe.

I just made this and I although I followed it step by step, I think the sugar burned a little as the finished product was quite dark and not very sweet, I added
more cream and some brown sugar along with some set
honey to balance the flavours, its delicious but has that bitter caramel note, one that I love but that I didn't expect from this
recipe.
And the bacon wrapped roasted pears with goat cheese and

Is this just the nature of the
recipe or could I add something (
more sugar /
honey etc.?)
I know all
recipes sort of can be altered to taste a bit, but isn't it
more traditional to go with
honey, and to be a bit sweeter (like 3 tbsp) for 2 loaves?
I have tried many a
recipe on the internets and come up empty handed time and again, the one thing I have found with the ones I like the best is they always have
more eggs, and
more oil (which yours has) and use
honey... which leads me to this question... why sugar, and why so little sugar?
Next time I'll try reducing the water by 3/4 of a cup and adding an extra two eggs to the
recipe and a quarter cup of
honey and maybe that will yield a
more traditional result.

recipe twice worked really well both times although I had oven too hot first time the result was a lot like

I substituted
honey for maple syrup and tripled the
recipe and it made for a softer finish (
more crumbly), but still delicious!
It also has a
more neutral taste, as opposed to
honey or maple syrup, which can both lend distinct flavors to
recipes.
Loved this
recipe — have changed things up a little to add in
more seeds etc, and swapped in some rice malt syrup as well as some
honey.
I'd also love to see less agave and
more Stevia and / or
honey recipes (like this one)... I love all the coconut flour and almond flour
recipes... bars are awesome because they are so versatile.

For those who are interested in substituting stevia for the agave, I just made this
recipe and used four dropper - fuls of vanilla stevia in place of the agave (and added a tablespoon of
honey to add a bit
more liquid) and baked them.
You can replace the
honey with agave nectar, maple syrup, or
more corn syrup to keep the
recipe vegan.
