more fossil fuels, peak in a decade or two, and gradually come down, with quite survivable

Even if we consider the

While much of the attention at Paris is focused
on reducing emissions in a bid to keep global temperature rise to less than two degrees Celsius by the end of the century, many
climate impacts will continue to increase — including rising sea level and more extreme weather events — even if greenhouse emissions cease, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate

Armed law enforcement officers are not educators, social workers, or counselors, and overwhelming evidence shows that when schools involve law enforcement in minor, non-violent behavioral infractions, students of color are disproportionately

more resilient and protected from
climate change impacts, such as extreme weather and rising seas levels.
For this reason, a European project was estaqblished in 2011, COST - action TOSCA (Towards a
more complete assessment of the
impact of solar variability
on the Earth's
climate), whose objective is to provide a better understanding of the «hotly debated role of the Sun in
climate change» (not really in the scientific fora, but
more in the general public discourse).
More unusually, the article also takes an introspective look at the role of scientists in communicating societally - relevant science to the public, and provides a critical review of how the science dealing with
climate change impacts on tropical cyclones and hurricanes has been reported in the media, and how that reporting has occasionally deepened the polarisation
on the issue.
Based
on many studies covering a wide range of regions and crops, negative
impacts of
climate change on crop yields have been
more common than positive
impacts (high confidence)... Since AR4, several periods of rapid food and cereal price increases following
climate extremes in key producing regions indicate a sensitivity of current markets to
climate extremes among other factors (medium confidence).
The goal five years ago was to build momentum to «seal the deal»
on a binding
climate treaty — a fruitless task given the divisions among the world's nations — while this conclave was centered
on a
more modest, but
more concrete, achievement — «to raise political momentum for a meaningful universal
climate agreement [notice there's no mention of the word «binding»] in Paris in 2015 and to galvanize transformative action in all countries to reduce emissions and build resilience to the adverse
impacts of
climate change.»
Global
climate change risks are high to very high with global mean temperature increase of 4 °C or
more above preindustrial levels in all reasons for concern (Assessment Box SPM.1), and include severe and widespread
impacts on unique and threatened systems, substantial species extinction, large risks to global and regional food security, and the combination of high temperature and humidity compromising normal human activities, including growing food or working outdoors in some areas for parts of the year (high confidence).
«The skeptics are always going to be out there, and as people have to start spending money
on climate change, reducing emissions or seeing
impacts on lifestyles, people become
more vocal about it,» she said.
As to
climate change and its
impacts on storms and floods, the IPCC and NOAA among many other top scientific groups have indicated that
climate change will result in
more extreme weather events, including heat waves, wildfires, storms and floods.
