With its increased dimensions the new BMW 3 Series Sedan offers improved interior accommodation, particularly for rear passengers where the extra space has resulted in 15 mm
more kneeroom and 8 mm more headroom and larger door apertures for easier entry and exit.
Well, the new Dzire looks set to offer a slight reprieve on that count by offering nearly 50 mm
more kneeroom.
The upholstery too has been revised while there is 50 mm
more kneeroom at the rear.
Not exact matches
There's indeed plenty of space, some 37.9 inches of headroom (0.5 inches
more than a standard S - Class) and 12.8 inches of
kneeroom (6.3 inches
more than an S - class).
The upshot on the inside, though, is fairly dramatic, tipping the already
more than adequate 160 mm of rear
kneeroom into the required «unnecessarily spacious» category at a whopping 330 mm.
Thanks to the 14 - millimetre increase in rear
kneeroom, travel becomes even
more comfortable for passengers in the rear.
Passangers in the rear now have
more space to spread out, thanks to the increased
kneeroom and extended legroom (+1.2 inches).
The Mahindra TUV300 boasts of
more space inside its wider cabin, offering
more legroom (marginally
more),
kneeroom, headroom and boot space (by 42 - litres but the last row of seats eat into it) compared to the Ford EcoSport but the latter has
more comfortable seats, both at the front and rear (seat angle can be adjusted).
There's
more shoulder room in the back of the Audi, but the front seats» hard backs restrict
kneeroom.
Those seats also have shelled backs and are only connected to the floor with a slim seat base, leaving
more leg - and
kneeroom.
In terms of interior space there are substantial reductions in rear headroom -LRB--13 mm), shoulder room -LRB--58 mm) and hiproom -LRB--44 mm) compared to VFII, but some of other measures such as rear
kneeroom and front headroom are unchanged, at least in part because of the
more efficient interior provided by a transverse drivetrain arrangement.
It has the most amount of
kneeroom (30 mm
more),
more shoulder room and seats are extra supportive too.
Central to these is that the new car is much roomier: In fact the company says the Korean - built Koleos, with 77 mm
more rear
kneeroom than before, offers class - leading cabin space.
In fact, the Nissan boasts a whopping 629 mm of
kneeroom —
more than a Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf or SEAT Leon.
