The second thing we noted was that the front glass seems even
more of a fingerprint magnet than most tablets.
It's also glossy, so reflections become distracting in bright environments, and as glossy touch display it's even
more of a fingerprint magnet than the matte black metal casing.
Not exact matches
The multiple layers
of glass and the reflective pattern used on the back makes it less
of a
fingerprint magnet — especially if you pay a bit
more for the gorgeous blue color option.
There's an oleophobic coating on the back now, which means it's not as much
of a
fingerprint magnet as other glass handsets, but this also makes it a bit
more slippery in the hand.
It's a
fingerprint magnet, even
more so than glass - backed Sony phones, and the plastic layer feels unpleasant and slimy in the hand, like the back
of the Galaxy S4.
Don't get me wrong, the device does have its flaws: it's too slippery, it's a
fingerprint magnet, HTC Sense Companion and HTC Alexa are
more frustrating than helpful and the Usonic headphones are extremely difficult to put in — but the device is still one
of the best offerings HTC has had in a while.
The glass panel does make the Moto X4 a
fingerprint magnet, and while I personally prefer the
more utilitarian design
of the Pixel 2, the X4 is far
more eye - catching.
Of course, the downside to glass on the back panel is that it is a
fingerprint magnet, and because it is not coated in a hydrophobic layer like that front, the smudges appear
more severe.
Its rear cover with tiny dimples and matte finish makes it look
more sophisticated and less
of a
fingerprint magnet that the S4.
Glass does make gripping this 5.7 - inch phone
more of a challenge, breakable and a
fingerprint magnet compared to its faux leather predecessor.
The entire charging station feels solid, the edges and Tronsmart logo are made
of a glossy plastic, but it's not a terrible
fingerprint magnet since most
of the chassis features
more of a smooth matte finish.
