There are other modes
of vibration as well —
sine curves in which
more than one
wave fits into the length
of the string, known to musicians as harmonics.
Distortion means the sound
waves contain
more energy: the sound
wave looks like a square rather than a
sine, so RMS is
more than 70 %
of peak power.
The Flaunt e-bikes are also said to have a couple
of other features that help them rise above their competitors, including the geared hub, which could make for
more optimal operation on hills, a «walk mode» which is a pedal - free 5 mph assist for pushing the bike, a brake sensor that cuts off the electric motor when slowing for corners, and a
sine wave controller that is said to offer a smoother motor cut - in than square
wave models (which can be abrupt).
I found that F3 (HadCRUT3) could be fitted accurately with
sine waves of frequency nf for n = 1 to 5, each involving 2 coefficients (amplitude and time - shift), plus one
more for frequency f (= 1 / ToothW) for a total
of 11 coefficients.
You need to look at tools for identifying a periodic (or quasiperiodic) signal on top
of a base trend that is NOT linear; because there's a heck
of a lot
more going on with climate that you can capture on such scales with one line a
sine wave.
