Fiction reading... well, I do have some
of those
books (some hardback some
paperback) with the intent and hope that I would read
more but
more of them remain unread than read sad to say... until now
With it being so inexpensive and with so many
more people able to afford to buy and read
books, you would think the literary establishment
of the day would have celebrated the invention
of the
paperback, yes?
For the past two years I've suggested I'd get into
paperback versions
of my
books, but each time I've started work on the project it's been postponed to write
more stories.
In a recent article, CNN wrote, «[a] s further proof
of how digital media dominate today's entertainment, Amazon announced Thursday that its customers now buy
more e-
books for its Kindle device than all print
books — hardcover and
paperback — combined.»
From
more book types and formatting options than you can shake a stick at (hardback,
paperback, magazines, etc), authors can select their ideal number
of books with the print - on - demand option, print in premium colour or in crisp black and white and access print markets across the world with Ingram Spark's partnerships.
Even so, these same publishers who are so adamant about limiting our access to these e-books — and if you don't believe me, buy an e-
book using Adobe Digital Editions and try to read it on a machine that isn't tied to that specific Adobe account — are
more than willing to charge us as much or
more for the digital version than we'd pay for the
paperback copy
of the
book.
If you have a selection
of used
paperback books, you can sell these to people who want something
more than just the sand and sea.

We've been given to understand that the hardcover has an artificially inflated value (costing mere pennies per unit
more to produce than the
paperback), and that this artificial inflation is crucial to the success
of the
book.
Will releasing an inexpensive trade
paperback make the
book more accessible to a wider variety
of readers?
Yet I note also that the
paperback version
of her
more recent «Bloodfever» is rated 2,006 in
books sales on Amazon.
But as time passes it has perturbed me
more and
more that so few
of those sales are for the
paperback versions
of my
books available through Amazon's Createspace.
But there's time to devour at least one
more book, perhaps one
of these three
paperbacks, on sale today:
So much depends on the
more than just the text even when reading a physical
book — the feel
of the
book (I refuse to read trade
paperbacks, e.g.), the typeset, and most importantly my mood and place in life.

more Kindle
books than

If I can sell 10,000
books at $ 3.99 a download, which I've been consistently able to do through Amazon, that strikes me as a better deal than being able to sell 3,000
books at $ 12 a
paperback, particularly because my royalty rates are way higher on downloads and I can jam out two or
more of those downloadable
books a year.
Pocket
Books, a well - known
paperback division
of publishing mainstay Simon & Schuster, operated as two separate imprints for years, Pocket
Books and Pocket Star, in order to avail itself
of the opportunity to place
more authors» works in front
of the right audiences.
Today, Scholastic announced the release
of the most recent installment the updated covers for the trade
paperback editions
of the beloved Harry Potter series,

A Prediction: Since the focus this year for WMG Publishing is getting
more and
more books into trade paper, WMG Publishing will be making far
more money from trade
paperbacks by the end
of 2012 than from the
books published electronically.
In the hopes
of adding one
more review to their
book's page, indie authors give away free
books, including ebooks and even
paperbacks.
Otherwise, I'll keep on going to half price
books precisely because the price points aren't there for electronic publishing to make it worth my time, and I honestly don't have the funds to pay for
more than a handful
of trade
paperback book editions.
For example, due to the «look inside» graphic outlined above, you will notice on the screen shot below, that the Kindle edition
of my
book actually looks
MORE appealing than the
paperback.
