Many
of our
more than 350 sales professionals are passionate
pet owners, and they were thrilled to take part in this campaign to help find loving homes for
adoptable shelter dogs in our community.
On March 25, I attended Petco Foundation's «All for Love» Adoption Rally at NYC's Union Square Park, which featured
adoptable animals from
more than 20 animal welfare organizations (including ACC
of NYC and Posh Pets, the two organizations that helped me find Amelie, my own adopted
pet).

of homes and a perfect match for you.
Together we believe we can put an end to the unnecessary killing
of adoptable animals, and we envision a future where there are no

Since 2002, Heartland has saved thousands
of lives and we will continue to be advocates for homeless

more adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized.
With the help
of hundreds
of local animal welfare partners who bring
adoptable pets to PetSmart stores, PetSmart Charities

more than 220,000
pets find forever homes.
As hosts, we aim to raise awareness about the thousands
of homeless animals in our community and feature
more than 300
of these perfectly
adoptable pets to the public.

The Pet Adoption Portal by RescueGroups.org has allowed us to vastly increase the exposure
of our
adoptable pets and save staff time helping us to save
more animal lives.
The grant, a portion
of the $ 250,000 donation from Petfinder to the Petfinder Foundation, will be distributed to the selected organizations to help continue to transform the lives
of adoptable pets in their care, as well as cultivate
more lifelong relationships.
The practive
of loving our
adoptable pets to death is fortunately falling out
of favor and being
more open with adoptions is gaining
more momentum.
These signature National Adoption Weekend events at PetSmart are conducted in collaboration with PetSmart Charities ®, PetSmart Charities ™
of Canada and adoption partners —
more than 3,000 animal welfare organizations that bring
adoptable pets into stores where people save
pets and
pets save people.
This three - hour, high energy, live broadcast will feature
adoptable pets, informative videos about the San Diego Humane Society's programs, uplifting animal stories, the latest animal - related news and
more; all while raising the money that is vital to support the programs and services
of the San Diego Humane Society.
PetSmart achieves this milestone together with nonprofits PetSmart Charities ® and PetSmart Charities ™
of Canada, who facilitate in - store adoptions by creating lasting relationships with the
more than 3,000 animal welfare partners that bring
adoptable pets to the stores.
With the help
of more than 3,500 animal welfare organizations across the U.S. and Canada, PetSmart and PetSmart Charities found homes for a wide variety
of adoptable pets, including dogs, cats, and even small
pets such as rabbits, guinea pigs and birds.
Without the tireless efforts
of these groups working to place homeless animals with permanent families and educating the public about the responsibilities
of dog ownership, many
more of these wonderful,
adoptable pets would needlessly be put to death each year.
Our animals are «sheltered» in the homes
of our volunteers... we feel that this close - up and personal care leads to better socialization
of the animal which, in turn, creates a happier, healthier, and
more adoptable pet!
Feb. 24, 2017 — PHOENIX — This past weekend, North Americans opened their hearts and their homes to
more than 24,000
adoptable pets who were looking for their forever families during PetSmart Charities» first National Adoption Weekend
of 2017 — hosted at over 1,500 PetSmart stores across the continent.
Although dogs do not live on site, we do have a community cat colony to house some
of our available felines, in conjunction with the partnering
pet stores in our community that already house our cats so that they are
more visible and
adoptable.
Launched in 2004, PetSmart Charities» Rescue Waggin» program, which networks
more than 60 animal shelters across the country, moves
adoptable dogs, like Dawn, from communities with high
pet populations and not enough homes to animal shelters, like the Humane Society
of Boulder Valley in Boulder, Colo., where
adoptable dogs are
more in demand.

It would be nice if
more pet stores followed the model
of Petsmart and PetCo and hosted
adoptable cats from various rescue groups in their stores.
Some
of Petco's
more than 1,500 stores offer full on - site adoption centers or stationary cat habitats where partners can house and promote their
adoptable pets.
