the more pages your readers read, the more you get paid.

These tips might seem simple, but they create
more elements on a

readers to engage with, and can significantly reduce your site's bounce rates.

readers and don't try to trick them into clicking on links to get

We all seemed to be on the same
page with The Departed, but then Children of Men vaulted from # 19 to the number - two position (as an end - of - year film,
readers had
more time to catch it).
Always include a link to your site or landing
page so that
readers can quickly access
more information.

For books with higher word counts or
more pages, choosing the larger, 6 ″ X 9 ″, trim size will make your print book less bulky and
more manageable for
readers.
I tend to go with the
more traditional approach because it is what
readers expect and the pricing differential of 20 or so
pages isn't enough to worry about.)
By comparison, The New York Review of Books for Kindle Fire allows you to view that magazine's traditional
pages, with zooming capability, or to shift to the
more reader - friendly Kindle view in which you can change font sizes and the rest.
This is often
more a concern with critique partners, when we might send one chapter at a time, rather than with a beta
reader who typically sees 50 +
pages to a full manuscript at once.
If you want to leave
readers with a little
more after they flip that last
page, consider adding in some fun extras.
For a final print edition, I'd be
more rigorous about line fitting, but wouldn't expect my
readers to pay for
more pages to get the easier to paragraph spacing.
Of course attracting
readers to your website is
more difficult today, than it has been in the past, but there is still far
more value in a website than a Facebook
page for an author.
This will make your
reader have to «turn the
page» to begin the next chapter, thereby making your e-book
more like a «real» book.
Any individual story rarely spans
more than 5
pages and have such abrupt, off the wall endings as to leave the
reader scratching their heads in puzzlement.
No
more having to click the title, open the next
page, learn that it's a cozy, and then have to back step because I'm not a cozy
reader.
