process of
concentrating wealth and thus political
power: the
more wealth one acquires, the
more political influence one can purchase, which then enables the accumulation of even
more wealth as the State / Elite partnership showers benefits and monopolies on those who fund elections, i.e. the wealthy.
But Bitcoin Unlimited's larger blocks would require
more computing
power, storage, and network bandwidth to
process, which could
concentrate mining in fewer hands, making the system both less secure and less democratic.
Because the computer
power required to
process larger blocks could price out some smaller miners, critics worry that adopting Bitcoin Cash's approach will lead to
power being
concentrated in the hands of companies that can afford
more and better equipment.
