Dubbed the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
Public Safety Act, the bill (SB 7026) doles out
more than $ 400 million in funding for various
initiatives, including
more than $ 97 million for safe schools programming,
more than $ 98 million hardening the physical security of school buildings, and $ 69 million to fund a mental health assistance programming.
In such a case, perhaps it would be
more effective if the politicians took the
initiative to convince the American
public that climate change legislation is necessary for America's
safety, much like how President Bush demanded that the Patriot Act was necessary.
