Front seats are really a bit small: need a bit more width to really be comfortable like the QX60 I had.

The major difference is the width of the seat — if you are a larger person, you will be more comfortable in the United business seat than in American's — 21 inches instead of 18.5 inches.

Unlike other people, I care more about the width of my seat than I do the length of the seat and this is the widest seat I have ever experienced in business class.

More importantly the summer season will offer a Premium Economy option which should be of use to those who hate the ultra-confined feel of the Dreamliner's Economy Class cabin (31 ″ of seat pitch and 17 ″ of seat width should be illegal) but who also don't wish to pay for Business Class.

On the negative side, with 19 fewer Main Cabin Extra seats on offer, there will be noticeably more competition for the Economy Class seats that, with 33 ″ of seat pitch and 18 ″ of seat width, can = make a long flight slightly more bearable.

Space + isn't a true Premium Economy product as the seats only offer 34 ″ of seat pitch (just 2 ″ more than regular economy) and a paltry 17.3 ″ of seat width (which is exactly the same as regular Economy) so I'm not going to be rushing to cross the Pacific in a non-Business Class seat.

The Premium Economy seats on the A350 come with 2 ″ of more seat pitch (leg room) and almost an inch more width compared to the A330 - 300 it has replaced on a lot of routes.

In Economy Class things could be worse — the seat width may be a tight 17 ″ but at least the seat pitch is a slightly more palatable 32 ″.

The 777's offer Premium Economy with 38 ″ of pitch and 19.5 ″ of seat width and that will make for a considerably more pleasant flight than anything you'll find a few rows further back.

American Airlines is promising seats with width and more leg room (up to 38 ″ seat pitch) than Economy Class.....
