Things that have worked for other parents: getting rid of the baby bucket & getting a rear - facing convertible

In the end there is nothing to assure you that your «rented» car seat will be in any better condition then one you brought with you or that it wasn't in an unreported «accident» from the previous renters or mishandled by the previous renters... If safety is you end goal, renting a car seat at your destination is not inline with that goal.
