With a larger cast, bigger sets and set pieces, and a hell of a lot
more special effects makeup, Green Room is every bit the follow - up that fans of Blue Ruin have been hoping for.

I do like to watch the occasional Horror movie but what I like
more about horror movies is the
makeup and
special effects.
That means a lot of backstage discussion among the hijackers and the Israeli parliament — headed by a rather good Lior Ashkenazi as a careworn prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, and Eddie Marsan as the defence minister, Shimon Peres, so distractingly slathered with
special effects makeup that he looks
more like Eddie Marzipan.
The wafer - thin plot is little
more than an excuse to showcase the astonishing achievements of
special -
effects makeup artists.
What's even
more impressive is that it was
special makeup effects designer Rob Bottin that convinced Carpenter to make the creature
more visible to the audience when the director wanted to keep it concealed.
