A simpler assumption is that here, as in the parable of the prodigal son, Jesus used a
more elaborate
story than usual to convey a
more elaborate
idea.
To disentangle from its many complications the
idea of God, for example, and to follow through from early Hebraism to second - century Christianity this
idea's progress, while it makes the
story more easily understandable, obscures the actual confusion of cross-currents, back - eddies, stagnant shallows, whirlpools, rapids, and cataracts present in history itself.
A lot of these characteristics evolved as people had
more time to study and write this stuff down and then tried to rectify some of the contradictory
stories and
ideas.
By using this technical Whiteheadian language, the basic
idea may seem
more complex than it is: in fact, what is being said here was discussed earlier in relation to Dominic Crossan's
idea that
stories can either form world (myth) or transform world (parable).
Strangely, I find this
idea far
more likely than the Hebrew creation
story.
Aside from also starting to post
more photos on my blog (which
idea I see you gleaned from monitoring my brainwaves as well), Dean and I were just talking about this
story yesterday and how the point is not doing vs. being, but never being distracted from being a disciple; which is really just being close to Jesus, doing what he does, listening to what he says and going with his agenda instead of ours.

more powerful than myself, followed by miracle after miracle — should certainly help someone else.
Thus the Old Testament is not to be read as an odd collection of curious

ideas from a remote and primitive world, any
more than it should be taken, on all its levels indiscriminately, as a definitive statement of unchanging truth.
Let us take a brief look at the cosmic
story so that we may eventually explore
more closely its relationship to the
idea of revelation.
I really think that looking at the entire Bible as a single Cohesive
story and coming at it from the
idea of seeing how God is revealing a little
more of His plan over time is much
more appropriate than most traditional views.
Possibly it goes back to Abraham as recorded in Genesis 17, though this is
more likely a later adaptation of the patriarchal
stories to the covenant
idea.
And at the end of that year, I had
more words,
more ideas,
more stories.
I was kidding, but he liked the
idea, so when he came home from work he maintained a cheerful silence (communicating via sign language that he wanted a glass of wine, whereupon his silence grew even
more cheerful) and spent some time sketching out a little liturgy involving the reading of the Gospel

The writer was no longer a speaker and therefore no longer needed to concentrate on
stories about people; instead, writers were freed to deal
more directly with

And according to The Hollywood Reporter, he's been brewing the

story since he first broke into the movie business
more than 15 year ago.
But it is the purpose of such figures or images to direct one's mind to an
idea and,
more to my point, to a
story.
I respect the bible and its
stories and
ideas now far
more than I used to because I respect it as it is, not as I want it or need it to be.

more, with prominent figures and events removed to keep the
