When I came home from Israel, I became even
more familiar with
tahini when I realized it was an easy way to get sesame seeds into my diet during the second half of my menstrual cycle.
Tahini is a staple ingredient in Israeli cuisine and it's had my wheels turning as to how I can incorporate it into
more of my recipes.

Tahini Vegan Pasta Salad
Taking inspiration from my veggie wraps, I mix up my eggs (sometimes with the yolk, sometimes without) with protein - rich hummus and flavorful
tahini sauce, and give it a little
more crunch with red onions and chives.
1 - 2 cloves of garlic 1 table spoon (or
more) of
tahini Apple cider vinegar Juice of 1 - 2 limes / lemons Olive oil (optional) Salt and pepper
Dressing for slaw: 2 cloves garlic 1/2 an avocado 2 tablespoons
tahini 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar (or lime) 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup water (plus
more to thin)
You can add
more sugar but I don't suggest using less cocoa powder because that would call for
more flour, less liquid and
more fat (in this case,
tahini) which would change the recipe entirely and I can't guarantee results.
Tahini is used in place of oil for a
more wholesome source of fat while almond flour helps give it a
more traditional texture.
I added a bit
more lemon juice and we used peanut butter as I couldn't find
tahini in my French supermarkets.
