And so, in its second year of Opportunity Culture implementation in four schools, Project L.I.F.T. saw a strong uptick in both the quantity —
more than 800 applications for 27 spots — and quality of
applicants for
teaching roles at schools that previously saw many positions go unfilled.
For our summer 2017 residency, we selected 19 out of
more than 200
applicants to be
Teaching Fellows.
Teachers will perform a full range of duties, including but not limited to: + Preparing / implementing lesson plans that lead to student mastery of curriculum content, including English Language Development + Developing / implementing integrated curriculum units, differentiating and scaffolding as needed + Regularly assessing student progress to refine instruction and meet student needs + Participating regularly in professional development opportunities and collaborative meetings + Communicating frequently with students, students» families, colleagues and other stakeholders + Working closely with children and their families to promote personal growth and success + Maintaining regular, punctual attendance
Applicants who possess the following skills will make the strongest candidates: + California

applicant who holds a standard
teaching credential from outside Texas and meets the requirements of the SBEC may be issued a One - Year Certificate in one or
more subject areas.
Before writing the cover letter it is also recommended that the
applicant find out all he can about the relevant institution, such as the number of students, background of the university or college, if it's
more research based or
teaching oriented etc..
A Teacher Resume used by professionals who already have experiences in the field of
teaching should be
more filled with work experiences compared to those of entry level
applicants.
