You can also combine MACD with other indicators, or look out for hidden divergences to find
more trading setups.
This is because the opening range of each market sets the tone for each session, and the overlapping hours tend to have

The trouble with that
setup is that it could, as the America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP)
trade group recently warned, substantially raise premiums for the sick and medically needy, who would stampede over to the
more generous Obamacare - compliant plans and thus make those plans far
more costly.
Obviously, this has made it challenging to allow solid technical swing
trade setups to follow through in either direction for
more than a day or two.

trade setups worth talking about.

Although the daily chart is useful for seeing short - term trends,
trade setups on the monthly timeframe can be
more explosive, especially when they align with bullish price action on the weekly and daily chart intervals.
This is not really a
trade setup but
more of a way to map the markets so you have a plan moving forward.

trading any old price action
setup; they seem to totally ignore the market context that the
setups occur in, which is actually just as important, if not
more than the individual
setup itself.

more detail, adding elements such as the direction (long or short) of your
trades, risk to reward ratio, length of each
trade, photos of your
setups and exits... can be very enlightening.
So you can see by waiting for the
more optimal entry on this
setup we could have at least doubled our profit on this
trade...

A «normal» entry on this
trade setup, near the pin bar high with stop loss near the pin bar low would have netted you no
more than 2R profit.
But you'll be compensated by
more reliable
setups and fewer losing
trades.

One disadvantage of the cypher pattern is that it has a tendency to provide
trading setups in which the reward to risk ratio leans
more toward risk than reward (at least at the first take profit level).
It makes the
trade setups more complicated.

If you will just slow down and focus on
trading like a sniper and not a machine gunner by learning to
trade only the most obvious and confluent price action
setups, you will be able to
trade much
more relaxed and care - free, this will help you greatly in your money management.
For example, if this same pin bar
setup above occurred in a range - bound market or in the course of a downtrend, you would not likely set a target of
more than 1 to 2; therefore the
trade would be a lower probability
setup.
If I stick to great
setups I can afford to wage
more per
trade.

trades through price action

Being patient while
trading with price action goes something like this: you see what looks like a decent pin bar formation but it is going against a rather strong trend, because you know that this
setup has a much lower probability of working out than a pin bar
setup with a strongly trending market, you sit on your hands and pass it up, don't think anymore about it, even if it works out it does not matter because you just exercised patience, and you will be rewarded for it the
more you use it.
One question though: how do you reconcile «loading up» / «going in deep» when a quality
trading setup is present with never risking
more than an amount you could afford to lose «twenty times in a row» as mentioned in one of your previous articles?

more you focus on managing risk effectively, the
more money you will make, it is crucial that you learn to view each
trade setup in terms of risk to reward.
Work on really designing a nice spreadsheet that you become rigidly devoted to maintaining every time you enter and exit a
trade, eventually you will find that you won't want to blemish your
trading journal with
trading parameters that don't meet your criteria of a valid
setup; a
trading journal will gradually allow you to enjoy being disciplined because the
more you adhere to your
trading plan and update your
trading journal on - time, the
more consistent success you will experience, and since its hard work to remain disciplined and organized, you won't want to ruin all that you have achieved with one stupid emotional
trade.
