The only thing left unsliced is the ham in BloodRayne, yet another
video game adaptation by German genre specialist Uwe Boll and a
movie with
more fading - or faded - talent than an Italian basketball team.

Films adapted from
video games have now been around long enough for the first major franchise reboot (Hitman and Street Fighter don't count), and while this new Tomb Raider
movie has
more honourable intentions than the shallow Angelina Jolie - starring films from 2001 and 2003, it too suffers from the inherent superficiality that tends to plague
video -
game adaptations.
Granted, some (including myself) might argue that
video games becoming
more and
more like
movies makes actual
movie adaptations of them entirely redundant, but at the very least it should allow them to be translated onto the silver screen with less appalling results than what we've been getting.
