In the winter, I tend to invest in a handful of classic, lifelong coats, knitwear and boots and wear them to death, whereas once it
warms up I like to be a bit
more frivolous, looking to the high street and vintage stores for carefree, throw - on
pieces that can get covered in sand, mud and grass stains and I don't really care.
Warm, cuddly and definitely a statement
piece, the teddy bear coat is way
more versatile than you'd ever think.
To make this sunny
piece more seasonally - appropriate (and also to dress it down for casualwear), I added a
warm, knit sweater and a cropped jacket in coordinating neutral colors.
I always score some of my most favorite winter
pieces around this time and it gets me excited for next year's cold temps;) The Frye boots I wore throughout my trip are almost 40 % off (btw they're ridiculously
warm / comfortable), I'm in love with these Ugg lace up boots that are under $ 120 (don't they look so much

more inclined we are to experiment with bold colour and print, however, if you feel your sparkly outfit is too bright for winter - using black
pieces to layer your outfit is a great way to tone down your magpie factor.
But the good news is that they're also a perfect transition
piece for the beginning of fall: it's chilly enough to want to give your feet
more coverage than a sandal, but still
warm enough where you don't want to suffocate them in boots.
And the jacket in particular is one of those
pieces I tend to reach for a lot, but
more so in these
warmer months.
This bold, «Cookie Monster» blue, furry jacket from H&M is not only
warm and cuddly, it is a major statement

more so than the red, in my opinion).
With the
warm weather that we are sure to have throughout September, I can stretch the wearability of my brighter

warm family.
The jacket is
warm enough for windy fall days but won't be enough for winter, so consider this
more of a spring / fall jacket than a three season

The truth is when you are able to mix summery and
warm pieces together it makes the whole experience a lot
more exciting.
A jean jacket is one of my favorite

piece to layer over a basic graphic tee like this «Holy Chic «one from Old Navy (unfortunately it is no longer available but my love Rebecca Minkoff makes one here).
The color of the cardigan looks a little washed out in these photos but it's really a lovely shade of heathered oatmeal (or
more plainly, tan) and I wear it very often as a completer
piece for work during
warmer months.
My focus as we move into spring is to do the same with my
warmer weather wardrobe, and be
more adventurous with how I combine individual
pieces I'm actually pretty happy with.
Fall is a season of layering and we can not go out without wearing
more than one
warm piece of fabric.
When the primary motivation is keeping
warm while facing
more dreary and less sunny days, the temptation is there to simply throw together as many
pieces as possible and get out the door.
As the weather
warms up, I find myself reaching for
more flow - y looser fitting, comfortable yet; stylish
pieces to add to my wardrobe.
It's a great layering
piece that can pretty much be worn with everything —
warm leggings or even a leather skirt for a
more edgy look.
Keynotes to take away from my wardrobe additions and favourites are that I have been gravitating toward
more warmer tones and finding good basics to mix and match with some statement

It's proving to be the mvp of my current wardrobe that's transitioning into
warm weather
pieces, but still needs something
more than a light layer over the top.
Joe and I found that home meant living in a place that has some character and soul to it, so we invested in
more traditional
pieces like vintage Turkish rugs and raw wood shelving to
warm up the modern space.

I especially gravitate towards striped

warmer months — what could be

But there are

pieces that I'm always really drawn to are the thinner cashmere items — they are

warm and when mixed with the stress of talking to attractive women can lead you to sweat
