Forty
years ago UNICEF figured out that promoting simple, low - cost interventions like hand - washing and
breastfeeding could save millions
of lives, and its mission has helped children in
more than 190 countries and territories.
Only with the invasion
of TVs and computers (whereby the views
of more advanced countries are shown) have many moms stopped
breastfeeding after about 1
year, they seem to think that the entire world is like that.
That's in large part what my blogging has been about all
of these
years — addressing topics like home birth, circumcision, cosleeping, vaccinations, child - led weaning (
breastfeeding), babywearing, home schooling, unschooling and
more.
I have to read through this
more closely, but as a WIC recipient for
years now, I have to say here in the local office they have been hugely encouraging
of and supportive
of breastfeeding (the actual counselors, employees, etc).

breastfed babies), various studies suggest that UTIs may be as much as ten times
more common in uncircumcised baby boys than in those who are circumcised.
It's recommended to nurse babies until at least six months
of age for nutritional purposes, but it is becoming
more and
more common to continue
breastfeeding babies until they are at least a
year old.
I went then to have two
more daughters after that, who are now twenty - five and thirty - one, and each
of the second and the third were
breastfed for over two
years.
Some

As much as they claim to be victimised for public

The whole nursing / sex dreams question from last week reminded me
of something I read
years ago (I can't remember where, for which I apologize) which was a stat that mothers who
breastfed had
more sex (by a lot) in the first
year post-partum than mothers who formula fed.
And the reason is because infants who are
breastfed,
more than formula fed or who are
breastfeeding for longer periods
of time, they do have about a 20 percent lower risk
of being overweight, as a pre-teener and the teen
years and the reason is because, when babies are being
breastfed, so they are at the breast, they rely on their own hunger signals to modulate what they consume.
This is one
of the
more heartbreaking things I've encountered in my
years helping moms
breastfeed.
In a study
of 7,798 children, being
breastfed for 13 - 25 weeks resulted in a 38 % reduction in the risk
of obesity at 9
years of age, and being
breastfed for 26 weeks or
more was associated with a 51 % reduction in risk at 9
years.
If every mother in Great Britain
