Schwartz comes closest to a classically religious attitude when he enjoins the love
of constraint and the power

decisions, especially with respect to
life's

of the

life.
Way
of life, profession, forms
of recreation, possibilities
of education are no longer in
most cases inescapable facts determined by social and economic conditions, but have been transformed into questions and problems requiring moral
decision.
However
most of them have not taken the time to talk about this with a trusted adult or even to think about that crucial
life decision.
The collaborative interplay
of the Unholy Trinity
of the entertainment industry, big business, and legal institutions has ensured that the
most important
decisions of our day, those which set the moral boundaries or our civilization, those Rieffian interdicts which frame our forms
of life, are no longer significantly shaped by our democratic institutions.
Most of all, I love being able to touch the
lives of so many people — people who have made a real
decision to take their health seriously and are taking tangible steps to improve themselves.
