TESS will mostly search for planets elsewhere in the sky away from Proxima Centauri, near the ecliptic poles, regions directly above and below our
solar system that are easy to continuously monitor with
most space
telescopes.

telescope telescope on Mauna Kea to search for the
most distant objects in the
solar system.

solar system, revealed that our planetary neighbourhood is just a small part of a vast galaxy, that our galaxy is just one of many billions across the universe, and that
most objects in the universe are flying away from us at high speed because of its overall expansion.
