Our primary experimental approach involves creation of engineered
mouse strains with informative genetic mutations, characterizing these mice and their cells to elucidate molecular mechanisms underlying cancer phenotypes, and verifying these mechanisms in human cancer patient specimens.
We are currently focusing our efforts on an exceptional resource of laboratory
mouse strains with proven Mendelian disorders with unknown genetic etiology, strains stewarded by the Mouse Mutant Resource at The Jackson Laboratory for over 50 years.
To overcome this obstacle,
mouse strains with Cre recombinase - dependent Cas9 expression have been generated.
