romantic movies are
set in London (think Notting Hill, Love Actually, and About Time), but popular feature films such as Skyfall or Sherlock Holmes offer action - packed alternatives.
I'd purposely chosen a
movie which wasn't traditionally
romantic, but I guess the whole nature of an outdoor film is that it's quite a
romantic setting, and so everywhere I looked there were PDAs, people taking self - taken photos
in couples, and bulging picnic baskets and M&S carrier bags (you wondered what I was going to say then, didn't you!)

movie sets up marriage as the goalpost, but everything becomes an obstacle to the union of Tom Solomon (Jason Segel) and Violet Barnes (Emily Blunt), a thirtyish couple living
in San Francisco.
Bumbling, overstuffed, and
set in the middle - class fantasy world of Richard Curtis, Love Actually is an uneven ensemble
romantic comedy that frequently appears on lists of the top Christmas
movies.
