than perfect, well behaved, God respecting, family loving, law abiding, past widowed (twice), and
divorced., looking for a loving companion / friend, who is loyal to one, who loves animals, family, a good
movie, reading books, gardening, and road trips.
That leaves less
than two - thirds of the
movie for things to happen, but fortunately for our grumbly hero, he has some help in the form of Dave (John Goodman), a surf - shop - owning buddy in the middle of a
divorce, and John (Thomas Middleditch), a nervous rookie who is ready to take over completely random portions of the plot or pitch in some voice - over narration whenever Willis feels like taking a nap in his trailer.
Anyone wondering whether there might be a degree of artistry to what Roland Emmerich does should look no further
than San Andreas, an earthquake disaster
movie made in the Emmerich style, complete with
divorced protagonist and obliterated landmarks, but lacking the blockbuster crafter's sense of scale or knack for...
Divorce is apparently funnier
than murder in the
movies.
Shortly into the
movie I realized why most people watch
divorce comedies rather
than dramas.
