One might notice I didn't talk as
much about exclusivity here, but the fact of the matter is that when Microsoft revealed all of their draconian policies for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 became the default choice; it was up to them to woo me away from Sony and back to their side, and they failed miserably at it, as nothing they showed could overcome their ludicrous list of ridiculous restrictions and pretentious policies.

about how it negatively impacts consumers.
Much of the confusion
about whether Amazon requires
exclusivity or not arises from the fact that Amazon has designed their KDP platform to make it look like your account setup is incomplete unless you enroll in KDP Select.

They all have omissions and issues due to various fragmented platforms and
exclusivity, and there's not
much that can be done
about that just yet — we're in the midst of the smart speaker wars, and no platform is a perfect choice.
