If you are one that has a traditional publisher, you may not have to worry too
much about your book cover art; however, for the «Indie», or self - publishing author, coming up with an effective cover design for both your printed book and digital ebook may seem a daunting process.
I talk SO
MUCH about book cover design, but I thought it would be easier to just see all the important stuff in one simple book cover design checklist.
I wouldn't care so
much about the book cover design, but the reviews were also telling: the non-fiction hardcovers had some reviews, but with a three star average.
Not exact matches

You know, Lucy is believed to be ancestral to all of the later Australopithecines species and also our own genus Homo which includes everything from us to Neandertals, to the little Hobbits of Flores and, you know, we
cover all of this in the
book, and it's just incredible to see how
much new information
about all of Lucy's descendants has been uncovered in the past couple of decades, truly an astonishing period for paleoanthropology.
I am sure I could
cover so many more great things
about this
book and would go on forever, but you would be
much better off reading it yourself.

Just as Amazon gives authors quite a bit of control over their Author Page, they also give authors the opportunity to edit
much of the information that appears on their
book's Product Detail Page including the Product Description,
About the Author, From the Author, From the Inside Flap, From the Back
Cover, and Reviews.
Though there are 2 things I discovered
about publishing: (a) a
book editor is a must and (b) a good
cover (but don't spend too
much.
In the brick and mortar world, the jacket
cover of a
book contains
much of the promotional information
about that
book:
cover design, synopsis, reviews, author biography and more.
I used the
cover creator for my little public domain
book, since I don't care
much about the print version.
Since so
much of finding an audience and selling a
book is
about how a
book is positioned in the marketplace, it's also important to get feedback
about how your
book compares to other
books in its genre, and whether the way it's presented (for example, the
book's
cover and title) makes sense to a reader.
Talk
about the casual reader being confused and thinking they already had the
book because the
cover looked too
much like every other
book on the shelf.
But with digital
books, the
cover (which becomes the front
cover) is even MORE critical, because so
much more of the customer's decision to drill deeper and learn more
about the
book (i.e. read the blurb, check out the rating and reviews, etc) hinges on their initial reaction to the
cover.
And my third piece will be to advice
about a good image: the saying «never judge a
book by its
cover» was created by a lazy author who didn't give
much thought of what really works in the marketing of both fiction and nonfiction.
As a graphic designer, it is vital to me that I learn as
much as possible
about your
book, your vision and what you are looking for in your
book cover design.
The
cover and title tell so
much about your
book: if you fail to entice the reader in these two important areas, then what reason do -LSB-...]
Independent authors are constantly stressed
about how
much editing costs and how
much book covers cost, and then there are the ISBNs and other printing costs.
I didn't focus on
book cover and social media because I know there are plenty of articles that address that and I wanted to stick to points of advice I haven't seen
much about online.
BookCover 101 teaches us that it's not
about having a unique
cover as
much as a
cover that fits with the genre — a
book that screams to the reader, this is the type of
book you are looking for!
Your
book cover designer will appreciate receiving as
much information
about your
book as possible.
Figure out what keywords (locations, genre, theme, activities, plot events) would appeal to your target readers, then use the images and
cover text to say as
much as possible
about the novel, so that the right readers will be instantly attracted to your
book.
Their
books are in the range of
about fifty pages,
covering non-fiction, long - form journalism, essay, literary fiction, and
much more; serialization is also a concept that's in the works.
Sometimes we love a
book SO
much around here that two of us wind up posting
about it (and sometimes one of those two — who normally is very careful to check the archives to avoid such a situation — doesn't realize she's writing
about a
book that's already been
covered till right before...

much about surviving as the nuts and bolts of how to make it work.
Add in an overall lack of knowledge
about marketing
books, designing
covers, formatting, and most of all, editing, and you'll simply find that
much of the slush that has traditionally piled up on agents» and editors» desks is now being e-pubbed for your reading «pleasure.»

You don't even have to worry
about the size of the graphics as you choose the image type first — Kindle

There are a few areas where the
book is better — You don't have to worry
about damaging it or dropping it, the
book never runs out of battery life (though a reading light might), there are less page turns, paperbacks are
much lighter than the Kindle 3 plus lighted
cover combination.
On the contrary, a poorly designed
book cover conveys to the readers that author does not care
much about the
book and I am sure you don't want to take chances here.
Ok, maybe not to you, but the thing
about not judging the
book by its
cover is pretty
much invalid with the invention of advertising.
Gayla Trail: With my last
book, Grow Great Grub which was
about growing food in general, there was obviously a lot of food to
cover, and I could only allot so
much space to herbs and edible flowers, and it just didn't feel like enough.

However, you must make sure that your
book cover doesn't give away too
much, and just
about arouses the interest of the readers.
I realized that very
much of the content out there in
books and on the Internet
about cover letters is geared towards people applying for positions like, oh, machinist or accountant or whatever.
I wouldn't worry so
much about the part on law and the terms associated with it because I focused a lot on that part of the
book and none of those questions were asked, but would look into mail, and cpt and icd - 10 things on my own, because these subjects were not
covered in the
book but we're on the exam, I am a strictly clinical medical assistant and knew nothing
about coding and mail but still managed to pass
