Response: I've worked with the PM people a fair bit, and once you understand a little of their cultural and historical role, they do a pretty good job on the science — and since their circulation is
much larger than SciAm, Discover or Seed, finding ways to reach their
audience is certainly worthwhile.
But let's consider that silent phone and add to it... lack of employer / recruiter email
response, because it's valid feedback, and it's from a
much higher percentage of your
audience.
