The sad truth is that we are just a couple of players away from having a very strong starting 11... Wenger's fixation with Walcott and mertesakher as starting players remains a mystery to me... neither have the quality of a top team like arsenal... I am not a giroud hater but he is still too inconsistent and the big question is whether welbeck can push him in a way Walcott won't... Campbell has done well and has moved ahead of Walcott and, ox for sure but there is still a question about how much more he can improve... I tell you from a footballing point of view scoring 8 goals you got have players that know where the goal posts are it takes energy and creativity to score 8 yes I agree vikings changed their players because their league is starting i think tomorrow so yes they were not a big team team but to say that Arsenal were not strong thats a bit to much and I say it again you need energy and creativity to score 8 I was very happy they did that Arsenal are well known for creating chances yesterday they converted them chances into Goals this should be the norm and I hope this will give them a lesson on how to win a game as they did nt dwell about with the ball it was goal after goal and that tells me that they went for the goals directly and I hope and wish the young guns all the best and to do well in the next season

the big question in line up is Per if sterling runs off him then we screwed i hope he does nt duck another header overall we have too much quality should be a win COYG
I can only hope that this attempt is taken more seriously than the largely muted and clearly unsuccessful protests of late last season... although the plane writing escapade brought some much - needed attention to the matter, it failed to resonate with fence - sitters and those who had just recently fell off the Wenger truck... without a big enough showing of support the whole endeavor appeared relatively weak and poorly organized, especially to the major media outlets, whose involvement could have significantly changed what was to follow... but I get it, few wanted to turn on their club, let alone make a public display of their discord... problem is, they are preying on that vulnerability, in fact, their counting on you to keep your thoughts to yourself... who are you to tell these fat cats how to steal your money... they have worked long and hard to pull the wool over your eyes... they even went so far as to pay enormous sums of cash to your once beloved professor to be their corporate spokesmodel so that the whole thing would be more palatable... eventually the club made it appear as if this was simply a relatively small fringe group of highly radicalized supporters, which allowed the pro-Wenger element inside the club hierarchy to claim victory following the FA Cup win... unfortunately what has happened to this club can't be solved by FA Cups or a few players coming in, the very culture of this club needs to be changed and that starts at the top... in order to change the unhealthy and dysfunctional narrative that has absorbed this club we need to remove everyone who presently occupies a position of power... only then can we get back to the business of playing championship caliber football, which should always be the number one priority of this organization... on an important side note, one of the most devastating mistakes made in the final days of this hectic and poorly planned transfer window didn't have to do with the big name players like Sanchez or Lemar, but the fact that they failed to secure Jadon Sancho, who might even start for Dortmund this season... I think they might seriously regret this oversight... instead of spending so much time, energy and manpower pretending that they were desperately trying to make big moves, they once again lost the plot due to their all too familiar tunnel vision
there is some suggestion that wenger is backtracking on his fervent stance regarding what players would be staying at the club for the remainder of the season... some might deduce that this is all part of a much bigger, more elaborate plan... by shifting the blame wenger is attempting to, not so slyly, flip the narrative... by doing so he hopes to evoke empathy from his most ardent supporters, while attempting to rally any fence - sitters, whose faith was waning unless a more legitimate agent of blame emerges... unfortunately, and incredibly insulting to the fans, when wenger attempts to spin a tale and / or tries to eat his own words, he doesn't seem to play it all the way through in his head, so invariably gaping holes emerge... say we believed his version of the truth, would that not make him either an incredibly well - paid custodian of destruction or a spineless jellyfish because what manager worth his weight in salt would stay at a club that didn't give him final say after 20 years of supposed «success»... no matter the answer, neither bodes well for us... how ironic, in a way, since many pundits claim this team has lacked a «spine» for some years now... so whether we win, lose or draw on Sunday is frankly immaterial, as the problems will remain, and although it will be easier to digest if we left the Pool with 3 points, it might just be the worst result for the betterment of this club... a fact that both breaks my heart and baffles the mind

Nice article... I used to be one of those staunch Wenger fans through the years... I used to believe he is superior than Sir Alex, because with almost nothing to spend and playing with kids, he managed to keep us up there every year... I was really caught up with that half season wonder we used to show... In the summer 2013, him or the board (I don't recall) came out and said we are much stable financially and now we can fight with the biggest bullies, I got my hopes high, I thought we are definitely signing a top striker and DM, that what we need... What happened, only hours before the window closed we managed to sign a top AMF (remember we have our best player for the season 2012 - 2013 was AMF, Cazorla if you remember), I was really depressed seen Giroud leading the line every match... then comes winter window, and we were right there top of the table... My friend send me a poster of an elephant on a tree, and on the bottom of it «no one knows how it got there but everybody knows how it will get down»... I told my friend that we are only one decent striker far from the gold... and what happened, we signed an old injured DM on loan... That for me was a completely arrogance and stubbornness cost us the league title... There I completely lost the plot with Wenger... I wish yesterday I was with those who raised that banner... I would write in my banner «Enough talks and philosophy, we need results»
While the release clause will merely act as a safeguard and shouldn't be too much of a concern, the biggest blow to Guardiola's hopes of signing him will surely come if he decides to sign a new contract to show his commitment to Barcelona.
I believe we don't have the striking power to break Chelsea, RM, BM, Barca, PSG, and even Utd (after improving their side)... Giroud is too handy against big experienced CB's and Walcott can not find his spot against deep and dense defense, Welback (I have hope in this guy) needs to step up his first touch, finishing, and hold up play... we need a wc striker much more than we need DM, because when Coq is fit (doubt that the case all over the season) we are fine in that department but ST even with all fit and inform we would find difficulties to break strong defenses (not Sunderland, WB, AstonVilla.
I do think that both Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Morata are much bigger losses for their respective clubs Man City and Chelsea though, so with the football media reporting that both strikers could be set to miss around six weeks of action, Arsenal really need to keep the pressure on and hope it tells.
You say «I don't like the manager» BUT i hope you realize its nothing personal I have a big respect for wenger so its nothing personal its just that I think that too much power corrupts, history has proven that already so I don't have to Wenger has too much power at Arsenal and I think and this is my view he as abused it badly BUT that another story all together.
Spurs on the other hand also going through similar situation after two superb season's finishing 3rd and 2nd respectively in 2016 and 2017, Spurs fans were hoping for couple of big name signings but none arrived and Tottenham might take the field against Newcastle United pretty much unchanged from last season.
