In reading the recipe you left out how much maple syrup and also how
much cocoa powder.

If — whoops — you dumped in what looks like way too
much cocoa powder, add more batter.
Add too
much cocoa powder to the dough and you'll end up with dry, crumbly results; don't add enough and your cookies won't have any flavor.
I decided to double up everything else because I didn't want to waste
that much cocoa powder, but I do think the amount of chocolate has affected how they taste.

The second time I soaked the dates in boiling water to soften them and then I just used a blender stick to blend the dates with sweet potato and maple syrup (
much easier than a processor) I also made a budget version and used regular
cocoa powder, 1/2 honey 1/2 maple syrup, no pinenuts - just 1/2 cup of coconut flour and 1/2 cornflour, I also added chopped walnuts.
Make sure you use raw cacao

cocoa powder is fine stuff — it's a lot more volume than you would think!

much chocolate you add and how chocolate - y the frosting will be.
I also used dark
cocoa powder in this recipe versus regular because dark

much more depth and flavor.
I think I'll have to cut back on the
cocoa powder next time though, I slightly overestimated how
much a tablespoon was when using a dessert spoon haha.
