To be honest, I made some variation,
coconut nectar in the place of agave and... no maca in the filling, I was afraid It would have been too
much maca por me, so just a simple super-vanilla almond
butter -
coconut nectar ready - to - use caramel!
I also add almond
butter for extra protein, and
coconut sugar for lower glycemic index... just a few twists that don't change the taste
much if at all.
I'm a total
coconut lover and I just lurve this
coconut butter so
much!
Many with Alzheimer's lose their appetite and won't eat, so if they prefer the flavor of
coconuts over peanut or almond
butter, then maybe they will get some
much needed fat into their systems if they eat the
coconut oil while they are refusing the nut
butters.

much our go - to substitution), and then I came across this recipe from The Prairie Homestead, which not only uses
coconut oil but also substitutes honey for sugar.
As
coconut oil is 100 % fat, you won't need to use as
much when substituting for
butter.
Cocoa
butter has a higher melting point than
coconut oil, so I hoped that would stop them from melting too
much.
Making nut
butters at home is really rewarding, because they taste so
much better than store bought ones, are usually cheaper, and you can enjoy the cleanest nut
butter ever with just the nut (and optionally
coconut sugar and sea salt) as the only ingredient, instead of a bunch of chemicals and random ingredients that aren't necessary.
I love using the
coconut oil instead of
butter,

The first steps in making this version are pretty
much the same as when making regular
coconut butter, except this time, we're not only adding unsweetened shredded
coconut to the bowl of our food processor, we're also adding
coconut oil and a little bit of salt.
Since nuts have lots of healthy fat, you don't need
much butter (or
coconut oil, if you prefer) in the recipe for a rich, creamy texture.

You can make this kosher easily by substituting chicken fat or
coconut oil for the
butter, but if you go with
coconut oil, I'd go with one that doesn't have
much of a
coconut flavor or odor.
Plus, as
much as I love and believe in
coconut oil, I think cookies should taste a bit like
butter.

According to an online conversion website, 1 stick of
butter = 113.4 g. Is that how
much coconut oil to use?
All peanut
butter is not created equal... mine did not have very
much oil so I added a few tablespoons of
coconut oil to the batter and that did the trick.

coconut in the food processor forever, it didn't get quite as smooth as a jar of purchased
coconut butter but delicious nonetheless, i threw in maybe 10 strawberries and really resisted the urge to put too
much stevia in — maybe just 4 drops of this vanilla stevia i have.
