There doesn't appear to be too
much edge enhancement to my eyes, but that could be because the whole film has a moderately hazy overtone.

Though the 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer of the film (full - frame version sold separately) starts out looking scuffed, the speckles clear up after the opening credits — but then

enhancement intrudes, and there's a bizarre lapse in quality during chapter 6, when intermittent shots lose so
much definition as to suggest second - generation VHS.
Edge enhancement does prove to be a distraction now and again (though not nearly as
much as it did on the old MGM platter from 1997 - Ed.)
Edge enhancement is also a recurring problem but it's
much less pronounced than on the Platinum.
