I can't even begin to tell you how
much 4 - H taught me -
everything from the basics of cooking and
baking, to food safety, horticulture and gardening, sewing, stitching, food preservation and canning, photography, art, and even the basics of dairy cows!
We have made so
much from this book for ourselves and omnivore relatives; the refried beans,
baked chips, guacamole, tofu «fishy» tacos, jackfruit taquitos, Mexican red rice, borracho beans and
everything has been a huge hit.
i usually make a x4 recipe because we are both very busy and having leftovers makes
everything so
much easier... i either slice it and fry it, or cut it into several large pieces and simmer or
bake them and then cut into strips for sammies.

Between being in a closet apartment kitchen for 4 months and then having to put

much leftover pesto that I ended up making a simple sauce with it using crushed tomatoes and a little salt / pepper while
