Is it possible that I greased the pan with too
much grapeseed oil (seems unlikely) or is this simply the recipe?

- Used almond meal from Trader Joe's instead of blanched almond flour (added some flour at the end when I was mixing it all together because it was a little wetter than I thought it should be)- Used mostly agave with about 1/8 C of maple syrup instead of yacon - Used 1 tsp powdered ground ginger / 1 tsp real grated ginger - Used a little less than 1/2 C

i didn't realize until the last minute that i was out of olive
oil so i used
grapeseed oil - am thinking it would be

Much like Alchemille, I've used maple syrup (I discovered that agave nectar really bothers my system as it is too high in fructose for me) and regularly use sesame
oil instead of
grapeseed.
(I used coconut
oil instead of the
grapeseed) Thank you so

Sea buckthorn
oil is
much better for oily skin than
grapeseed oil.
Neem
oil's pore - clogging properties are
much more straightforward though, with a 2 out of 5 comedogenic rating, equal to
grapeseed oil.
One thing I noticed was that the
grapeseed oil seemed to thin out quite a bit when heated, so when you start out, you may want to use just a tiny amount (
much less than you think you need) and add more if you need it.
Grapeseed oil has a
much higher smoke point and doesn't add flavor as does olive
oil.
Culinary argan
oil is also
much less popular compared to
grapeseed oil, so the market is automatically more interested in top quality skincare versions.
Personally I
much prefer Maple Syrup to Agave and Coconut
oil to
Grapeseed.
For those that like to know about substitutions — I always use honey instead of agave nectar and did so here; I did use
grapeseed oil here because it was the first time and I wanted to not vary the recipe the first time
much but I will use coconut or palm
oil next time as they seem to work fine in the other recipes I've tried so far from this blog.
