None of the donations was especially large by New York standards, so it's
less about the
prominence of the individuals within the support structure of a major party as
much as an indication of how few people are willing to donate to a party that has not won an election for statewide office since 2002.
But McIntyre's thin publication record suggests that his
prominence has
less to do with any compelling scientific analysis, and
much more to do with astute promotion.
