One of the biggest mistakes I've made interviewing marketers is focusing so
much on the analytics.
Not exact matches
When you share a link to content
on any of your social channels that drive people to your business's website or online store, you can track how many people clicked
on that link or shared it and
much more via Google
Analytics.
Using a platform such as Google
Analytics is a must for collecting data such as what pages people visit, what products they bought after their first purchase, how
much time they spend
on certain pages, what pages they visit after, age, gender, geographical area of your customers and more.
Use an email
analytics tool such as EmailAnalytics to find out exactly how
much time you spend
on email, as well as how many words are in an average email you send, what days of the week you send and receive emails most, and a bunch of other interesting metrics.
In addition,
much like their product packaging — pink bubble wrap adorned with emoji - like stickers — Glossier stores are perfect fodder for Instagram and Snapchat (which the startup routinely mines, so its data
analytics tools can measure how popular each product is
on social media.
Social
analytics firm SocialFlow said recently that the «reach» of a particular post
on Facebook — meaning the total number of users who see it — has fallen for some publishers by as
much as 52 % from January through July.
Prospera clients get,
on average, a 500 % return
on their investment in the service and, as data and
analytics improve, Koppel thinks they can do
much better.
But that stat crashes into another one: That people spend most of their time
on smartphones within specific apps — so
much that app usage now represents 86 % of time spent
on mobile, according to
analytic company Flurry.
Alidina says that many companies have developed their own metrics for social media, but Crowdbabble is banking
on the fact that
much in - house data analysis of social media won't be able to dig down as deep as specialist
analytics firms can, especially as sites like Instagram and Pinterest become data - mining sites for marketers.
