much easier job — those inclined to political conservatism are more likely to have a «negativity
bias» in their response to environmental stimuli — conservatives have more of a physiological reaction to potential threats in the environment and subsequently devote more
psychological resources towards dealing with them: conservatives, quite literately, see more things that could go wrong than liberals.
