I love that it contains so
much seasonal produce!
It's so colorful, cool and delicious and it uses so
much seasonal produce (that I know I miss in the coming months) that I feel justified in eating it at some point every day:)

Seasonal produce tends to be
much cheaper than imported, out of season food, so it's worth being very conscious of this when you shop and make your shopping lists.
Thinking about this, if nothing else, is a nice reminder about how the act of consuming food is so
much more than just nourishing ourselves... and one more reason to consider
seasonal / local grains and
produce as healthy — for ourselves, for the environment, and for others.
With salmon, blueberries, and an assortment of
produce figuring heavily in the menu, the recipes also emphasize eating local and
seasonal as
much as possible and in such a way that is relevant in the Pacific Northwest and the Nordic countries this time of year.
It's especially important at this time of year because I have my own garden and there's so
much fresh
produce available locally, so it's always a crazy time for
seasonal recipes!

Choose any combination of vegetables you enjoy, and try to purchase as

It gets hard sometimes to think of new ways to enjoy fresh,

produce - and nutrition - related website just for kids and
much more.
Hence, we should prefer
seasonal produce as
much as possible.

Over the years this blog has changed a lot, but my focus has always been on local,
seasonal vegetables, organic
produce, and whole foods as
much as possible.
Last year, Crondall Primary School had a policy to use as
much organic
produce and
seasonal fruit and vegetables as possible, including poultry and meats from local organic farms.
Our local offerings include
seasonal produce picked fresh from Oklahoma farms; a variety of meats raised the old - fashioned way including certified - organic beef, black - angus beef, pork, chicken, buffalo, and lamb; locally roasted coffee; honey; mustards; jams and jellies; pickled vegetables and relishes; fresh baked bread; hormone - free dairy; salsas; and
much more representing over 70 artisan food producers from across our state.
Featuring a
seasonal menu of regional
produce, it's the perfect excuse to spend
much needed quality time with friends or loved ones whilst sampling the region's finest cuisine.
