I personally experienced this phenomenon early in my career (albeit with
a much smaller elementary school staff team), as I attempted to spend significant time in each teacher's classroom.

In fact, paying
elementary age children to read books did as
much to boost their ability as more popular approaches such as
smaller class size, Head Start, and bonuses to teachers for working in at - risk
schools, the study determined — and was
much cheaper, too.
A mathematician I know who teaches at a
small college told me that a graduate of his education
school caused
much embarrassment when, during the interview for a job in an
elementary school, the job seeker was unable to add two fractions when asked to do so.
The City can do
much more to foster economic integration of
elementary schools than the
small scale efforts it has made to date.
This could be because middle and high
school boundary neighborhoods are
much larger and less different from each other than
elementary school neighborhoods, which are
smaller and more differentiated.
Great article that my principal had us ESL teachers just read - thank you for your no nonsense outspokenness, and no, Mr Shanahan, ESL will not pull during teacher direct instruction in the content areas until
small groups break out - only 30 minutes then - but it's a packed schedule to do it - 8 groups a day 5 days a week to pull for listening / reading and speaking / writing per WIDA some of your comments appreciated

The program was launched after parents expressed concern about their kids moving from the
smaller, safer
elementary school to the
much larger middle
school.
We have chosen to analyze concentrated areas with low - performing
elementary schools because they have the
smallest geographic attendance boundaries, unlike our middle and high
schools with
much wider boundaries given their larger student populations.
