It's easy to overwhelm a small space
with too
much color and pattern, but when choosing a small room color scheme, you don't have to
stick with bland
neutrals or boring white.
But I didn't think she'd be into this particular look, since she's
much more of a classic,

neutrals kind of girl, but sure enough, she ended up picking up the same thing for herself the next day.
Sticking with neutrals and basics makes this
much easier, but no one said you can't add a pop of color!
As
much as this
neutral loving girl likes the traditional warmer hues of autumn, I love
sticking with more muted cooler tones.

Even if you
stick to the most simple decorating formula (
neutrals with a pop of color), you can add more textures and layers
with affordable pieces and paint to give your room more interest — and a
much richer look without the fat bank account.
Also I tried to simplify the accent pillows and throws since the rug was
much busier and colorful, so I
stuck with mostly solid colors and textures in
neutral but decidedly soft fall colors.
