much as I like the idea of getting an extra 10,000 -
mile bonus annually from MileagePlus, I'm not sure I want to focus all my spending on one
rewards card so I can hit that $ 25,000 mark.
If we didn't have points and
miles with American, Southwest, and Chase Ultimate
Rewards ®, we would have had to book
much of our trip with cash.
How
much, if any, am I allowed to value my
reward miles?
Alaska
miles are one of the most valuable
reward currencies out there and many people don't even realize just how
much you can do with them.
Due to this potential exchange risk, the Canadian programs are
much more likely to be cautious and
reward fewer
miles per Canadian dollar than their US counterparts award per US dollar.
Obviously, the best strategy is to use the Capital One Venture
Rewards Credit Card as
much as possible to earn the 2x
miles.
It doesn't say very
much for the efficiency of those running AAdvantage that just days before the first Iberia Premium Economy seats start flying to New York (3 May) we still can't be told what
miles we'll earn for any flights we credit to American's
rewards program.
Remember that Marriott
Rewards points — like many hotel points — are
much easier to earn than airline
miles for most people.
These cash
rewards don't have nearly the outsized value potential you'll get from
miles and flights, but then again, those
miles aren't of
much help once you get to where you want to go.
These cards don't typically earn as
much as other
rewards cards, offering double
miles on airfare only, but the added perks might make them worth having, depending on your travel habits.
Depending on how
much you can charge will depend on how many
rewards cards you can signup for and ultimately how many
rewards miles and points you will earn in a years time.
