which feature a lot of rotting tree trunks and other vegetation as well as man made rubbish, much of
which has been adapted by the creatures into shelters.
The
diving around Bali is incredibly diverse: beautiful coral and walls in Menjangan Marine Park in the North; fascinating
muck dive and reefs in Amed; challenging dives in Padang Bai and Candidasa; exhilarating drifts and big fish encounters in Nusa Pendia & Nusa Lembongan; fantastic
muck diving in the North and East of Bali; and the famous USS Liberty shipwreck at Tulamben
which is not to be missed by anyone visiting Bali!
The current rich Pantar Straits and Pulau Pura has a variety of dive sites
which provide a superb mix of wide angle and macro subjects, along with plenty of excellent «
muck»
diving and the opportunity to visit local villages.
The last day of
diving is at the
muck slopes in Bima Bay
which provide the habitat for mimic octopus, frogfish and nudibranchs.

diving the so called «Ring Of Fire» means starting off with the best of Raja Ampat via Manuk Island and the Bandas with our final destination Ambon,
which is famous for
muck diving.
The area has outstanding marine biodiversity with staggering coral walls around Bunaken, the more recently discovered
muck diving sites in Manado Bay and the stunning reefs around Bangka
which, whilst not part of the park, are celebrated for their stunning soft corals, dugongs and marine biodiversity.
There are also
muck diving sites
which are earning high praise from experienced critter hunters for their diverse and plentiful macro-life.
They have access to an area south of Manado called Popooh
which offers «macro»
diving on small coral bommies in an area rich in sea - grass,
muck diving in the dark sands of Manado Bay, the coral reef covered walls of nearby Bunaken Island, the soft coral around the volcanic island of Bangka Island, and renowned
muck diving of the Lembeh Strait.
As such it offers great
muck diving on the sandier northern side —
which is where the main resorts are; and great natural coral reef
diving on pretty much the other three sides.
Macro lovers will be in paradise at Bantana or Kri where
muck diving is the order of the day with a myriad of bright, colourful critters - some of
which have only been recently identified by science!
Some top sites at Padang Bai and Candidasa that we highly recommend the Jetty and Jepun at Padang Bai for great
Muck diving, and also Gili Tepekong and Gili Mimpang
which are the Two islands off Candidasa for a chance to spot the larger oceanic life.
Known as the «Critter Capital of the World» the Lembeh Strait is home to an abundance of unique and rare marine life
which thrive on its black sand
muck diving slopes.
