I've always liked the idea of multi-purpose rooms, so when I was designing
the mudroom space, I wanted it to be a considered a «utility» space.
While my hallway wasn't the cutest area ever at the time, nor was it the big giant
mudroom space I dreamed of having, nothing has to be perfect in order to be functional.

One of you had commented a while ago about wanting to see a blog about how to create a
mudroom type
space when you don't have one.
We recently converted our tiny little coat closet into a much more functional
mudroom for our family and I have to say, it is quickly becoming my favorite little
space to decorate (see it pared - down for summer here...).
An airy, Gustavian vibe in the
mudroom makes the

spaces rather than combined areas.

I feel like an underachiever over here with our tiny
mudroom makeover;) I love your vision for this
space and I especially love your mantra: «Your home should give you that «I can't believe I get to live here» feeling without breaking the bank.»
After considering many options, we decided to create a
mudroom - like
space in that corner by adding a bench and hooks for hanging jackets and bags, as well as adding additional storage.
I have a whole unfinished basement to do, an outdoor
space in need of revamping, and a
mudroom that's part of our garage that needs an overhaul.
For ultimate impact, try covering the walls in a small
space like a powder room or
mudroom with a bold geometric wallpaper.
And besides, I really do feel like a
mudroom is a
space that you can really have so much fun with color and pattern!
So, I realized that while I had put the link to your party in my
mudroom makeover post a couple of weeks ago, I
spaced out and didn't actually link it up to your party!
It's a good sized
space but uses
space very inefficiently so I want to add shelving as well as make it into more of a functional
mudroom with a bench and storage.
This
mudroom bench was a last minute add on during our build and I couldn't imagine this
space without it.
Our entry hall is on the small side, but we've created a cedar planked
mudroom in a closet to give us a little more
space and more of an open feel.

space it sees a lot of action in this house.
We took out the coat closet that was right next to the front door, opened it up, and made it into a mini
mudroom (since we didn't have the
space for an actual
mudroom)

space proves that a
mudroom can be stylish as well as functional.

:) With a $ 500 Home Depot gift card, I'd rip out the 30 year old smelly carpet in our stairwell and replace it with cork, paint the
space, and build a bench and some places to hang things in the «
mudroom».
No
mudroom, so I am trying to figure out how to use the wall
space and remove the laundry room door (big change but I never close it anyway and it takes up SO much room!)
I agree — every

This small
space it actually a cut through from my upstairs kitchen... down the stairs, past our family room, through the middle of my two desks... and through the door into our
Mudroom.
The door to the garage is just to the right of this photo, so we thought a small - but - mighty
mudroom area that offered closed storage, a bench with baskets and hooks for bags and backpacks would be the perfect addition to this pass - through
space.
