Splinter Cell Blacklist's
multiplayer element feels far from something simply strapped on the side for more sales.
Not exact matches
so why spend time making
multiplayer elements for a game that really would only
feel tacked on compared to just solely focusing on making a great single player experience.
I
feel that Operation Husky is going to be fairly divisive amongst players, with some possibly not appreciating the shift in focus during its last third, but I personally welcome the injection of new gameplay
elements into what could be argued to be a more staid
multiplayer experience when compared to the variety of its contemporaries.
By trying to tackle Call of Duty head on it has lost its sense of identity; it doesn't
feel like Battlefield, it doesn't
feel like any of the
elements that have made the game loved by so many on the
multiplayer front have made it into the singleplayer, instead it simply
feels generic.
However, most of the levels available now are just a buggy mess with little or no substance, while the traditional
multiplayer elements are just a bore and
feel tagged on.
Ripping off enemies» bollocks and ripping through their throats may
feel rewarding, but it doesn't make up for the game's lackluster storyline, lack of any online
multiplayer element, and poor overall effort put into the game.
All those times hunting down run away Jaggis or tackling big Deviljhos can finally
feel as if they have paid off with these
multiplayer elements in hand.
Without campaign and
multiplayer modes we
feel, just based on the single player
element, the price tag is a little high, however Shiro Games are working away at Northgard and we
feel they have it all in hand to make it one of the best strategy games while listening to the players» feedback.
As I stated above, the game
feels very repetitive during single player, but the same
elements that make up single player flourish during
multiplayer.
The game features a colorful, cartoony art style and
feels a lot like the spiritual successor to Valve's Team Fortress 2, but with a sprinkle of Quake and
elements from MOBA (
multiplayer online battle arena) games like Dota and League of Legends thrown in.
On the
multiplayer in Far Cry 2, faced with those kinds of challenges — the dynamic weather systems and all those other
elements that we were getting from the single player side, I
felt pretty comfortable trying to shape an experience that was going to be fun and interesting for the player.
Now, on to the broken
elements of
multiplayer, I didn't get chance to experience what was wrong with the game before these modes were taken offline, all I know is that they were causing issues with lag and were behaving quite buggy, so I can't comment on the specifics of it, but I did
feel that I wanted to get my opinion down in the review of the situation.
Progression does
feel tangible and rewarding, the map design and overall level of presentation for the
multiplayer elements is just as impressive as that present in the campaign.
