Each
node in the next layer of the
network receives weighted signals from
multiple nodes in the first layer; it adds them together, and again, if their sum exceeds some threshold, it fires.
A transaction is the transfer, and not only a copy, of a certain amount of units from A to B. Each transaction is validated by a defined minimum number of computers, called
nodes, and stored
in an identical and chronological order by all
nodes of the
network with
multiple stored transactions building a block on the chain of computers.
It's unlikely that we will see many high value channels with capacity greater than several thousand dollars - Lightning users who have a lot of value dedicated to the
network will spread that value across many channels and possibly even
multiple nodes in order to facilitate rebalancing.
That system could also use a community - run, decentralized social
network such as Diaspora,
in which
multiple users could host their own
nodes, all operating an instance of a black market marketplace.
